Tech Writer: Accuvant

With Accuvant, I was one of two tech writers handling document review for client-facing reports that were part of the ‘deliverable’ produced by our consultant engagements. Some of these engagements were white-hat hacking (by request) with a follow up report on what vulnerabilities the consultant found, how they were exploited and what information could be gathered, and recommendations on how to patch the problems. Very cool stuff and we had some very talented “hacker dudes” doing the work… and writing the reports. Problem was that our “hacker dudes” could break into your network with ease, but they weren’t always so great at explaining what they’d done and how to fix it in ‘non hacker dude’ English. That’s where I and my colleague came in. We edited, rewrote, reformatted and made suggestions for docs that could run to over 100 pages, approving them before final delivery to Accuvant’s clients
